After my daughter asking for one for the last year and a half, we finally got her a dog at Wheaton’s Petland. He’s a shelter rescue pet mixed breed Chihuahua / lab mix, about 9 months old, and weighs 18 pounds. He was already named Chancho, but we made a slight adjustment to Chacho.

He’s a real sweet dog with a great temperament and is the perfect size; not too big and not too small. It feels like having another baby in the house.

Chacho got rescued from the doggie orphanage.

Kodak PlaySport

My JVC DV camera has officially been retired to The Shures archives. Instead of buying a new replacement battery, I picked up the brand new PlaySport from Kodak. Best Buy had them in stock locally for $149.95.

While my JVC with its 3 CCD and advanced optics is a nice camera, this new PlaySport’s video blows it away. So far, the 720P at 60fps looks stunning. I also like the small size (about the same as my old Treo) and ease of use. No more FireWire capturing required.

Now I can make some new videos. :-)

At the Elmhurst York

Chicago’s classic cinemas are cool. They’re reasonably priced and high quality. Some of them are in beautifully restored historic theaters. Today we saw Alice in Wonderland in 3D at the Elmhurst York.

My daughter performing in her 1st school play.

Her class was divided into two groups of 12 each performing the “3 Little Pigs” play. Since the 2nd play’s girl was out early for spring break, my daughter got to do her part in the play twice. She played the Mother pig in the story.
