The Captain's 1st Mate

When I’m a shrimp boat Captain, will you be my 1st Mate?

While picking up supplies for tomorrow’s Great America trip, I saw this sitting on the front counter. Since it’s also part of my theme for the day, of course I had to have a photo. But first I went, Whoa Nelly, I was just talking about both of those; Forest Gump & Spiced Rum. At $10, I didn’t buy it. But it would make a nice addition to my Tiki bar art.

It’s funny how some days you just roll down life’s highway, not looking for, but running into the unusual. Maybe I am lucky or I have a good eye for it. It seems to happen a lot to me. Sometimes it’s uncanny; it can be a real déjà vu or at least coincidental.

Tiki C-Los

Newest member of the Sultry Salsa Singles club.

Today the Tiki bar received a little use. A good friend stopped by to see how I was doing. We kicked back a few beers, had a couple cocktails, and grilled some awesome lemon pepper chicken.

Tender grilled lemon pepper chicken.

The chicken turned out well. It was so tasty that C-Los had 4 of these and I had 1. All together, that was 2.5 pounds of lip smacking good Aldi’s chicken tenderloin. Two pounds for him and .5 for me. :)

Jaeger Bomb

In the right container, Jaegar Bombs are beautiful.

Now that I have a hitch, we made some plans for taking the boat out and doing some sailing on Lake Michigan. He’s got a cute little one that is the perfect size for me to tow.

We also moved the decorative emergency axe to a better location.

Beach Bar

I’m in love with my new Tiki Bar. It’s a little vacation in the backyard. Since I installed it, I’ve been stuck to it like glue.

Tiki Bar

I started with wireless shures.net access, then added a kick’n Sony STR-K502P system with KLH 970A weather proof speakers and a Sony SA-WM500 subwoofer to play my .mp3s off the IBM A31p laptop.

Macaw

Next came the Tiki Bar Sign, the Philippine bamboo party lights, and the Ebay stuffed parrot .
