New Pool Review Coming Soon To You

June 7th, 2009 Aden Posted in Home No Comments »

It's now like a new swimming pool.

The swimming pool reconstruction is almost complete. It’s looking great. New tile around the edge is the final touch. The water trucks should be here sometime this week to fill it.

Just one thing missing.

Along with patching, painting, and the redoing of the interior of the pool, all the plumbing and electrical has been replaced. The pump room has also been completely gone through with equipment replaced. It’s really looking great and is going to be running super.

Reverse Barn Raising

Barns - 114 Kilgore Road, Prairieville IL

I loved these barns.

This one time when I lived out in the country on a farm… they came and tore down our huge barn. Guess what they did with it?

They dug a swimming pool size hole, pushed it all in, and lit it on fire!

Now that's a barn fire!

Pictures of demolition and destruction
have been posted in the Shures Photo Gallery.

Wagon

After the smoke cleared, they buried the remains; concrete and all.
Now it looks like this.

Swimming Pool Reconstruction

A large crew working on the pool for days with jack hammers.

This is the year they are finally going to fix the pool correctly; no more band-aids.

Jackhammers are a fun tool.

The jackhammers have been going for days.

Huge pile of rubble.

The dumpster was giant and the pile of rubble huge.

Gutting the plumbing.

Even the plumbing is getting gutted.

Swimming Pool

My daughter has been learning how to swim in our pool.
At 4 years old, she is turning into a regular fish.

The pool party is next weekend.

July 18 2007 Update: The party has been canceled due to a broken pipe and as a result, the pool getting filled with crud. It was so bad Julio had to drain it.

Basement Lab

Where the magic used to happen in my Dixon home. I built everything you see from bare stone walls. This picture was taken right before moving, so most of the equipment that was installed is already removed.

Some of the equipment, like my Peavey 24 channel mixing board and Band equipment, is gone forever. It went bye bye along with a really awesome set of tools that used to be in a huge Snap On tool chest. I could build or fix anything with those… including my race cars, motorcycles, and home.

Raccoon Roust

Raccoon Security

I headed into the attic today to rid the this data center facility of the raccoon infestation. Bring on the pain! 1st round, psychological warfare. I setup 400 watts of lighting & 200 watts of AM talk radio. In honour of Mothers Day and for the sake of the children, we’re willing to endure a few days of the noise to see if we can encourage Momma to relocate.

Update: After a couple days of the lights and noise, the squirrelas are gone.

Backyard Cam

April 17th, 2006 Aden Posted in Home No Comments »

In honor of not being able to see our deck from the road anymore, and for all you peepers, I added a backyard cam to the Shures Network to go along with the 9-5 cam. Make sure you have Java installed to see the action.

Using Java, these cams will auto-update the picture every 5 seconds.
