I recieved my new work laptop today. It’s a Dell E1705 and I’m really digging it. It’s a real “Portable Desktop”. Weighs about 10 pounds.

Today the nice UPS man brought a new addition to the Shures Network, a laptop we purchased for my spouse. Dude, she got a Dell E1505.

This Christmas, Santa brought me a new workstation for the Shures Network. A Dell 9150. This is the first factory built computer I’ve owned since I purchased my 486 DX2 50 MHz machine way back in 1992. Yours truly custom built the last 10 machines between this and that. My new cel phone was delivered today. It’s a Motorola i870 that’s fully loaded with all the latest features such as a 1.3-megapixel digital camera with flash and 4x zoom, an MP3 player, and Bluetooth connectivity. It also has a TransFlash memory expansion slot for additional storage. Roamming in the field pictures have come to the Shures Network.

The parts have been ordered. My HTPC media convergence device will soon be a reality. What is it? It’s all the functionality of a PC, TIVO, and more. I’ll be able to digitally schedule and record all my tv programing, pause live tv, record and play DVDs, play any type of media files, PC games, surf the Internet, etc… all of this on a Panasonic 47″ HDTV through a 1080i high definition signal.
