Two hours of waiting around for the 10 minutes of march’n madness handing out the green plastic hats. It was a little rainy, but not too cold. The spicy juice tailgating in the staging area helped to keep us warm. Avoiding the traffic riding the charter bus there and back was nice. After the parade, we attended a nice potluck.

Purchased the $24.00 parking, saw a pirate play, rode the Ferris Wheel, explored the pier, had lunch at Bubba Gump’s, rode the free downtown trolley shuttle, went to the Children’s Museum, built a bear, had Haagen Dazs ice cream, came home to the suburbs in bumper to bumper. A perfect Chicago day.

You might think I have too much time on my hands. But I assure you that is not the case. I have great tools that make this easy. I’m an excellent driver slow in the driveway. I multitask very well. I can get more done before others get up than what some might accomplish all day. I view each and every new day as a blessing.
While I was in the shower this morning, my Baby’s mamma called. My daughter answered the phone. While she was doing it, she somehow managed to take this self portrait of herself. I’ve never shown her how to use my new phone. It must be user friendly enough that a 6 year old can figure it out. I think I may be raising a self reliant woman.
Oh, by the way. Somewhere today in my tasks, I’ll be heading to the hospital. That was what the call was about. That is all I am going to say about that.

I’ve been asked what my plan is so I thought I might share a little. I have a list that is about a mile long.
Somewhere in my plan is taking my motorcycle to South Padre Island and riding it on the beach in the surf of the Gulf of Mexico.
My Mom lives about ½ hour from the island and I haven’t been down there to see her in years. She’s 76 and still sharp as a tack. I’ll see you soon Mom.
Plus, I hear that they have free Internet access at the Senior Frogs on the Island. The ocean is a most excellent inspirational live background when looking for work.
Who knows? I might even meet my next employer there. It is a destination spot for the rich and famous.

I saw Ted tonight at the Ridgefest. It was just what the Doctor ordered. He started early at 8:00PM, instead of the scheduled 9:00PM, and played for about 1.5 hours. It was a great show with a huge nuge crowd.
Nugent has lost none of his guitar playing chops, but he doesn’t jump around the stage anymore the way that he used to. I guess everyone gets old.
Watching Ted on T.V. is just not the same as seeing him live, they have to edit out too much from his rants. My favorite quotes of his from the evening are…
“Everyone should buy machine guns… buy them for your children…” and “This is the United States… we kill kings, dictators, and tyrants” and last but not least “F**k Mayor Daley”
