The Shures Network

For over 10 years, my parents owned and ran the Apartment Lounge next door to the Roxy Theater on 5th street in downtown Springfield IL. Their place was on the right of the movie house and Dr. Bonny’s office was on the left.

The old Abe Lincoln hotel is the tall building in the background. After the state bought the whole block except the YWCA, I saw it imploded and everything else torn down in 1978-1979.
